The Live2U Crew danced barefoot in the sand front of stage with the punters before cruising out backstage to hang with the musos.
The first of our interviews kicked off with Hip Hop artist Pez and his posse, who we convinced to join us on the couch for a quickie (interview that is).
Next we bailed up Matt from The Beutiful Girls.  Now here is a musician that oozes appeal, he was humble, grounded and had a calming/relaxed personality.  Musos who don’t shun from our probing questions, who handle themselves with seemingless effort & charm, get the thumbs up from us!
We jumped the baracades to catch both musos perform and were totally blown away by the standard of today’s Aussie Music!  We found ourselves so caught up in the hype that by final performace we were yelling for more, feeling somewhat disapointed in the knowledge that the silence marked the end of day one.
We reluctantly joined the hordes of delighted blissed out punters shuffling through the gates towards their campsites.
The night did not end with the music shutdown, the energy buzzing throughout the campground kept it alive for  hours afterwards.  It was electric with thousands of excited punters running amuck!
Even  ‘Road Kill’ (Live2U crew member -  a very obnoxious cat) was unleashed after dark and harassed poor unsuspecting punters, including a couple in a parked car....mmmmm bad, very bad kitty!
On day two the sun continued to shine presenting perfect festival weather.  We collected Miss Ultra Violet from the airport and frocked up and enhanced.
We hit the backstage area in style filling our long stem plastic glasses with a blue cocktail mix, stirred with a Sumbucca Swish Stick (pure sugar crystals moulded onto a stick made with Sumbucca). We started out so classy....
Our interview schedule included: Philladelphia Grand Jury, UrthBoy, Grant Walmsley, Red Ink, Nathan Kaye, Children Collide, Little Birdy and Spiderbait.
We had a few stand out moments on the day starting with the Philly Jays.  Sista & U.V tried stalling the organisers in the hope that Dave would return from down town in time to start the interview, but stall they could no longer.  The girls found themselves trying to manage the Audio Visual equipment themselves, which was prone to disaster.  The result - no audio because the microphone was not plugged in correctly.
The fella’s from Red Ink had the crew in fits of laughter.  These guys were absolutely hysterical, beginning with their story of how one of them  had fallen in love with the visiting model from Dolly Magazine.  He was so into her that he bought a ‘childrens ring’ from a local store to play out a mock proposal.  We warned him that she may be jail bait, but it didn’t deter him - he was totally infatuated!
Grant Walmsley was cool as a cucumber and another musician who confronted us head on.  He wasn’t afraid to say what he thought and handled himself with grace.  20 years of experience in the music industry had clearly given him the skills to handle rat bags like us!
The lads from Children Collide had us all in stitches especially when John revealed the weirdest Phobia we had ever heard of, ‘Licking Towels’.  The guys were relaxed and their off-the-wall sense of humour worked well with ours.
Nathan Kaye was the dark horse of the day, an unscheduled interview, that turned out to be one of the highlights!  We met Nathan after several drinks with U.V and him playing with a bubble blower backstage.  This interview is a perfect example of what happens when you mix alcohol, video and a Microphone.
Katy from Little Birdy was surpringly shy, and finally - the clear winning interview for the day was Spiderbait.  Only because we were told no one would get an interview with them which I guess means we have an exclusive!  Remarkably, regardless of our vulgar intoxication we managed to get it together - sort of.
The overall vibe of the Festival was great, we only saw one small sign of agro and that was after some circle dancing in the mosh during  Children Collides performance.  We would like to solute John for bringing attention to how ‘uncool violence is and that the offending guys was an idiot’.
The line up was good, the weather was great, and as Spiderbait quoted, this is the only festival they know of with Sand!  The organisers seem to be acknowledging past problems to ensure constant improvements each year, so Kudos to them.
If you haven’t been, put it into your diary as this years must do festival.

Backstage we shouted several rounds of our favourite cocktail, Russian Cocaine!  We had performers, promoters and media all drinking shots managing to polish off 3 bottles of Vodka (oh, our kingdom for a vodka sponsor).  Thinking we were off-duty our entire crew cut-loose so when we unexpectedly snagged an interview with Spiderbait, it made for some very amusing uncut footage!  We may have to release a Live2U uncut or blooper real down the track!
